Stuckey is Perfect

Above is the video of David Stern announcing the Rodney Stuckey pick, along with some analysis.

First of all, I absolutely love this pick......LOVE it. Rodney Stuckey is a playmaker, which is exactly what the Pistons need. One of the Pistons main weaknesses is an inability to penetrate, and get to the hoops off the dribble. Mainly all the players are shooters, and it hurts in the playoffs when someone is needed to take the ball to the rim and get the hard basket (see: James, LeBron).

I dont understand why at first many fans were disappointed in Joe Dumars passing over Nick Young to get Stuckey. I think a big reason for this is because people have heard of Young, and seen him play. How many times has someone in Michigan seen Rodney Stuckey play? I'm guessing never.

Nick Young is a terrible defender, doesnt have that killer attitude, and has alarmingly bad numbers when it comes to steals. He is a shooter, so he is limited.

Stuckey on the other hand can do it all. He is lightning quick, can take it to the rim, is becoming a good shooter, etc. He can play PG or SG, and is relentless on the court. If Stuckey was playing for Washington in the PAC 10, and not Eastern Washington, he would have been a lock to go very high in the lottery. Pistons fans will love this guy.
